A Third Wouri Bridge In Cameroon!

GoTalk – A team of well equipped Japanese experts currently in Cameroon would be carrying out feasibility studies for the construction of a third bridge over the Wouri river in Douala.

Preceeding talks with the Minister of Economy, Planning And Regional Development, Louis Paul Motaze, information was disclosed that the 2km bridge would run from the Wouri river through the Island of Djebale, to Bonamatoumbe and finally to Bonamoussadi

The putting in place of a third bridge over Wouri is government’s effort to ease traffic flow into, out of and within the nation’s economic capital Douala, Minister Motaze said. He added that the entire package of negotiation that is presently on-going is also aimed at upgrading the level of road infrastructure not only within the Douala metropolis, but also within the nation as a whole.

Bearing in mind that the development of infrastructure generally facilitates the movement of goods and humans, and serves as a solid factor of national development as well as a positive drive towards emergence.
However, we have observed that the transport sector in Cameroon is still very wanting in infrastructure. The few available roads and bridges are narrow and those that are under construction or have been constructed of recent in the country fall short of modern roads.
